They are taking nominations to speak and it would seem wise that the single payer movement MOVE to nominate a worthy candidate in spite of the constant censure. ALSO, there will be an OPEN PUBLIC PANEL for which people must sign up ON the day of the event.
Hello, people - should there not be a presence by a single payer advocate? This activist suggests using EVERY opportunity to give voice to what reality suggests is the preference of the majority of Americans today - a system withOUT the middle'man' of the private insurance industry - a system which leaves healthcare decisions to doctors and patients vs. MBAs, CEOs, and CFOs.

The session, as I understand it, from http://www.hhs.gov/news/press/2009pres/05/20090507c.html seems to be focused on how to spend current funding from the Recovery Act, not on health-care reform. I'm not sure how you could work single-payer into that effectively.
