Speakers included Senator Leno, the author of SB 810 - the California Universal Healthcare Act, Israel Alvaran from UNITE Local 2, Jodi Reid from the California Alliance for Retired Americans, Hank Abrons from Physicians for a National Health Program, and Lisa Patrick Mudd who is Single Payer Now's Los Angeles organizer. On January 10, 600 single payer activists rallied at the annual student lobby day organizied by the California Health Professional Student Alliance. 350 students led the lobby day. Single Payer Now with the help of the California Alliance for Retired Americans, the Wellstone Democratic Renewal Club, Gray Panthers, and Oasis Clinic sent two buses and 4 car pools from the SF bay area to the rally. Healthcare for All - San Luis Obispo also sent a bus. Special thanks to Molly Tavella from CAPSA for all her organizing.
