Find out about some of the activism that continues to build the movement: Conyers Reintroduces "Expanded & Improved Medicare For All" Bill (HR 676) The single-payer universal health care bill, which has been introduced since 2003, has 25 original cosponsors, and has sparked a growing national movement in support of the bill. The bill had 85 cosponsors in the 111th Congress, and has the support of over 17,000 doctors, nurses, organized labor, and many activists across the country. Medical Student Rally for Single Payer, Montpelier Medical students from the American Medical Students Association, along with Physicians for a National Health Program, are helping to organize a rally in support of single-payer healthcare in Montpelier, Vermont on Saturday, March 26. John Boehner On Entitlement Cuts: "Everything Is On The Table" House Republicans remain divided on whether their upcoming budget for fiscal year 2012 will include cuts to government entitlement programs, but Speaker John Boehner suggested Tuesday that reductions in Social Security and Medicare funding were indeed possible. Obama Administration Unlikely to Block Arizona Plan to Cut 250,000 from Medicaid The Obama administration would permit a controversial plan by Arizona's governor to cut an estimated 250,000 impoverished adults from Medicaid, despite a provision in the new health-care law barring states from tightening their eligibility standards for the program.
