Please support Physicians for a National Health Program-California's upcoming Summer Conference. Dear Healthcare Activist: Did you hear that just this week a man in North Carolina robbed a bank so that he would receive health care in jail that he couldn't afford on his own? What has our nation come to when we have to force people to commit crimes in order to access health care? People should not have to go to such ridiculous and dangerous lengths to get the health care they need and deserve. We all know that there is a solution: dismantling the private health insurance industry and replacing it with a public entity. Come to the Summer Conference at USC's Tutor Campus Center Ballroom on Saturday, July 16th from 9am to 5pm to get the latest information on the single payer movement and network with other supporters. Also, don't miss our keynote speaker, Dr. Carmen Nevarez, immediate past president of the American Public Health Association, and our closing speaker, Sheila Kuehl, Esq., former author of SB 810.
