August 7, 2017 Dear colleague, California's plan to enact Medicare for All has been sidetracked in the Assembly Rules Committee, despite the growing popularity of single payer and solid evidence for its financial savings. Rather than negotiating with Washington about how much will be taken away from the working poor and given to the wealthy as tax breaks under Trumpcare, we can fight for universal, affordable access to medical services in California.   This is one of the vital human rights struggles of our times.
