How Single Payer Healthcare Would Save US $375 Million a Year

Noon Saturday, February 28

518 Valencia, SF

(one block from 16th St BART, 5 doors south of 16th St.

Speaker:

James G. Kahn, M.D., MPHsenior author of the study and a researcher at the Philip R. Lee Institute for Health Policy Studies at the University of California at San Francisco.

Kahn says "We could provide everyone with good care and remove the complex and onerous cost-sharing that we have in the current system".

In 2013, the United States spent a total of $471 billion in medical billing paperwork and insurance-related red tape.  A single-payer system would eliminate 80 percent of that cost.
